Hawks-Bucks Game 4 Player Props, Picks: How to Bet Trae Young (June 29)

NBA betting analyst Sloan Piva already previewed the spread for Game 4, so now I’ll be breaking down my some player prop picks for tonight’s Eastern Conference Finals matchup.

Once again, I’ll use help from our friends at Scores And Odds. Their NBA props tool shows the best lines from across the online sports betting industry alongside their own player-specific projections. SAO Premium members get to use the tool for every player prop, for every sport, and every game.

Hawks vs. Bucks Player Props & Picks

Trae Young, Under 29.5 Points (-125)

T. Young Under 29.5 Points

We’re seeing some discrepancies between Young’s prop line across the online sports betting industry. For example, at DraftKings Sportsbook, his points prop is currently (at 11:35 am ET) is O/U 27.5, while it’s O/U 29.5 points at BetMGM.

As Piva touched on earlier this morning, Young suffered an ankle injury during the second half of Game 3. It was sever enough for him to get an MRI, which revealed a bone bruise on his foot Monday afternoon.

Atlanta’s 22-year-old superstar is listed as questionable, but I think it’s safe to assume he’ll be starting when the game tips off at 8:35. It might not be severe enough to keep him off the court, but that doesn’t mean it won’t keep him from scoring 30 points.

Now don’t get me wrong, Young has been remarkable throughout these NBA Playoffs. He’s averaging 29.8 ppg on top of 9.5 assists. He’s rallied the ATL troops and led them all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals one year after they missed the playoffs.

However, Young wouldn’t be a lock to score 30 points against this defense, even absent of an injury.

Remember, in Game 2 Young had merely 10 points at halftime and finished with 15 after Atlanta’s starters were pulled because the game had gotten out of hand.

Like that game, Scores and Odds projection Young to score just over 26 points tonight. I’m siding with the projections and fading Young’s ankle.

Oh yeah, Don’t forget to place your bet at BetMGM for the best price.

What about Young’s Assists, O/U 8.5?

Young’s assists prop has shortened to 8.5 ast. across the industry, and I’m definitely enticed by the Over. If you’re sticking with SAO’s projections, that would be the bet. They’re projecting to dish 10.43 assists by the end of the game.

However, I’m hesitant to bet the Over on anything related to Young tonight. As I stated earlier, I expect him to play, but there’s still relatively little info regarding his injury status. We can only make guesses at this point.

I’m staying away completely for now, but I do believe there’s more “outs” for under bettors. What if Young starts but is clearly hobbled and the Bucks get out to another big lead? I wouldn’t expect the Hawks head coach Nate McMillan to keep Young in the game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Under 33.5 Points (-125)

Hawks vs. Bucks Hawks +7
Time, TV 8:30 p.m. ET, TNT
G. Antetokounmpo Under 33.5 Points
Best Book BetMGM

This line has been pretty spot on throughout the playoffs, including the Eastern Conference Finals. Giannis started the Eastern Conference Finals scoring 34 points. In Game 2, he scored only 25 but also only played 29 minutes due to the blowout. Then last game, he came up a half-point shy when he scored 33 points in 41 minutes.

So what can we expect tonight? In all likelihood, Antetokounmpo will score between 30-35 points. SAO projects him for 32.16 points, nearly 1.5 points fewer than his prop line at BetMGM.

Once again, BetMGM is the best book for this prop bet. The line is 32.5 points elsewhere.
