Lions vs. Texans – NFL Player Props
- Jared Goff Over/Under 230.5 Passing Yards
- Jared Goff Over/Under 0.5 Interceptions
- Sam LaPorta Over/Under 3.5 Receptions
Jared Goff OVER 230.5 Passing Yards (-110, FanDuel)
Last week, Jared Goff and the Lions played in a persistent rainstorm in Green Bay, which led to a significant emphasis placed on the ground game. The week prior, Detroit led by 21 points at the half, which led to a run-heavy approach in the second half. Prior to those games, Goff had thrown for 292+ passing yards in 3 of his last previous 4 games. This is a very targetable number for him, facing a Houston team that should keep the game close enough to force Detroit to be aggressive through the air.
Jared Goff OVER 0.5 Interceptions (+125, Bet365)
Jared Goff hasn’t thrown an interception since Week 3, but he hasn’t been as clean as his surface-level statistics indicate. During Goff’s interception-less streak, he still ranks outside the top 10 in turnover-worthy play (TWP%) rate, meaning that he’s had throws that could have resulted in interceptions. Among the 26 quarterbacks ranked outside the top 10 in TWP% in that stretch, Goff, Jalen Hurts, and Justin Fields are the only 3 players to avoid an interception. This is a good price for Goff to make a mistake this evening.
Sam LaPorta UNDER 3.5 Receptions (-120, BetMGM)
Following a stellar rookie campaign, Sam LaPorta has been extremely underwhelming in 2024. Entering play on Sunday, LaPorta has managed more than 3 receptions in only 3 games this season. Tonight, he draws a tough matchup against a Houston defense that ranks 2nd in the NFL in DVOA against opposing tight ends this fall. LaPorta could struggle once again in this spot.
