Monday, June 17th

Well, Happy Monday, I think. I’m going to open up with some Deep Thoughts With Cheese centered around some home run numbers I was digging through this weekend. I want to start by saying that none of this research is very scientific at all, and it is only looking at one side of the coin, when the other side may actually be the more important side. I simply wanted to first confirm that home runs are indeed still trending up as the season moves on, and then take a basic look at if certain teams are allowing more of of those home runs. This is just a look at the pitching side, and of course, the hitters themselves have the most say in the matter, but we’ll loop back to that another day.

Fascinating. This is a perfect guide to help the average player sift through the mountain of stats available and focus on core stats that simplify the process. Stuff like this will give you great leverage when you become available for free agency. Thanks!

Hey Cheese – how much do you use weather edge in your analysis and what do you think is a large enough sample size of games for it to be useful? Specifically looking at the HR data for the twins game tonight in a 55 game sample

I do use weather edge, and i think it’s great, but I cannot provide any useful insight into how/when to use it, since it would just be my random, unproven opinion.

Hey cheese, any thoughts on the reds tonight? I feel like if Suarez is low owned he would be good leverage off J ram and La stella.

Also, with 3k left on FanDuel in the util spot would you be more apt to roster Puig or Cole Calhoun (already have trout/upton/ohtani.

you can absolutely always play Suarez at home against a lefty. The Reds just don’t rank high on my list, but sure you can play some righty power there. I prefer Calhoun to Puig by a wide margin.
