Tuesday, July 2nd

Last night was a weird blur of emotions for a lot of us. The news about Tyler Skaggs was so sudden and saddening. It’s not like we know these players, but we spend so much time watching, rooting, and studying, that they begin to feel like a part of our lives. I have no idea if/how this will affect the Angels moving forward, maybe they go into a funk, maybe they band together and surge, but from my end, all I can do is just analyze the data we have as always. I have no plans to do anything differently with this team starting today, just know that there are some questions around how they will perform that we just can’t know.

With that, let’s go ahead and jump into this loaded 15-game slate. We have a tremendous number of pitching options, and while I’m going to separate them into tiers and give you my favorites, there are a lot of viable options that you may prefer. The hitting side is easier to narrow down, although it still ends up being a very sizeable group of clear upside offenses.
