Pitchers
- Home Alex Cobb had a great spring and has carried it over to the start of the season. I don’t particularly love the matchup against the Yankees though, especially with all of those left handed bats in the lineup. I think he is in play today, but personally I will avoid him.
- Away I hate when Andy Pettite takes the mound because I can never bring myself to take him. He is always too expensive for my taste. Yet he continues to pitch well for the Yankees. The one concern I have for him today is that the Rays seem to be crushing lefties lately, just look what they did to Sabathia.
Batters
- Home Ryan Roberts is really heating up and has been excellent against lefties this season. I have a little bit of a soft spot for him after he hit 2 HR’s for me the other night. Soft spot or not, he is hitting .455 against lefties this season. Evan Longoria continues to get one hit per game, but he keeps making that hit count, but with a BvP of 2/18 and 10 K’s it’s tough to take him.
- Away Robinson Cano has been the only Yankee to find success in TB so far and he is really seeing the ball well right now. He already has 2 HR’s off of Cobb in only 9 at bats so if you can afford Cano, take him. I also like the other left handed bats of Garnder and Hafner.

Pitchers
- Home Matt Harvey takes the mound tonight and this kid has been flat out amazing this season. By far the best pitcher so far this season in baseball. I don’t think the Dodgers are going to slow him down. Target him.
- Away Ted Lilly makes his first start of the season after having surgery last September. It sounds like he hasn’t been all that impressive in his two minor league starts and I think the safe play here is to wait a few games before taking a chance on him.
Batters
- Home David Wright is high on my list today. Who knows what we can expect from Lilly and Wright crushes lefties even though his average against them this year isn’t that great. He seems to produce points every night and should be on your team tonight. Marlon Byrd is a cheap option as well with good BvP: 8/17 with a HR and a double.
- Away If you are looking for an against the grain play, maybe take a shot on Matt Kemp. He continues to get hits, but has failed to have productive hits. I could see him getting a hold of one today. Other than that, stay far away.

Pitchers
- Home Michael Roth gets the start for the Angels and he will likely not be available on any of the sites since he was a late fill in. That’s a good thing, because I don’t expect much out of him against the Rangers.
- Away Yu Darvish, the strikeout genius takes the mound for the Rangers. He has struggled against Trout and Hamilton, but has mowed through the rest of the Angels lineup. I like his chances to get the win tonight with Michael Roth starting for the Angels. Target
Batters
- Home Like I said, Mike Trout has had some success against Yu, but has more K’s than hits against him. He is about the only guy I would take on the Angels tonight, maybe Hamilton if he is cheap.
- Away Time to stack! Or at least mini stack. I don’t know much about Roth other than he has only pitched 5 major league innings. Perfect situation for the Rangers to put up a bunch of runs tonight. Don’t shy away.

Pitchers
- Home Edison Volquez has been getting blasted this season and you are probably thinking, why on earth would anyone take him? I don’t know why, but I am going to go out on a limb and recommend taking Volquez tonight. Last season at home Volquez posted an ERA under 3, he has had decent success against the Brewers, and he showed a little bit of life last game against SF. Don’t take him as your only pitcher, but if you can choose a few pitchers, take a shot on Volquez.
- Away Love the matchup today for Marco Estrada. While he struggled on the road last season, he has looked good so far in his two road starts. He has struck out 13 batters over 13 innings with a WHIP of 1.08. A matchup with the Padres in Petco should only improve those road numbers. Target
Batters
- Home Estrada is a high strikeout pitcher and I usually hate taking hitters in these situations.
- Away Ryan Braun and Rickie Weeks are both in play for the Brewers, and if you think I am crazy about Volquez having a good game, then pretty much the rest of the Brewers are in play too.
