MLB Daily Grind Down June 3rd

The RotoGrinders MLB Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the MLB schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit.
While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy baseball, there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, weather, and salaries. The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. No sport has more variance than baseball. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time. (any fp listed uses Fanduel’s scoring system)
Sorry for the late post today. I completely forgot that it was the first Monday of the month which means that I have to do the Dreaded Bar Inventory at work. The time I normally spend doing research for baseball in the mornings was spent counting shots of Oban. Better late then never. Here is today’s Daily Grind Down to help you during crunch time!

- Favored NYY -109
Pitchers
- Home Andy Pettite is not pitching well at home this year with a 5.32 ERA. He did not looked good in his last start and I cannot see him escaping this CLE LU without surrendering a 3 or 4 runs. CLE is batting .267 on the road, .269 versus left-handers, and .230 over the last 7 days. Avoid
- Away I have been a believer in Justin Masterson. He has looked great on the year. He is only a 4.13 pitcher on the road and this NYY eats up right-handers at home. NYY is batting .246 at home, .249 versus right-handers, and .217 over the last 7 days. IN Play
Batters
- Home Robinson Cano is 8-23 versus Masterson with 2 2Bs. He is also batting .333 versus right-handers. I like all of the left-handed bats today.
- Away Nick Swisher is batting over .300 versus left-handers. Drew Stubbs hits lefties well also if you are looking for a value play.

- OU 7.5
- Favored PHI -175
Pitchers
- Home Kyle Kendrick has been his best on the road this year. You have to like him at home today, though, versus a soft hitting MIA team. MIA is batting .225 at home .234 versus right-handers and .271 over the last 7 days. Target
- Away Tom Koehler has been pretty good in his first two starts since joining the rotation. He still plays for MIA and has limited K upside so I cannot recommend him. Avoid
Batters
- Home Domonic Brown is a nice run with 58.25 fp over the last week. He gets another right-handed pitcher today.
- Away Marcell Ozuna is super hot with 33.5 fp over the last week. Chris coghlan and Derek Dietrich also offer great value. Coghlan is 5-12 versus Kendrick.
Colorado at Cincinnati

Las Vegas
- OU 8.5
- Favored CIN -135
Pitchers
- Home Bronson Arroyo is starting to show his colors. He has been hit hard in his last 2 outings. He has been a 3.16 pitcher at home this year but I think his hot streak is over and would not go near him todat against a hot COL team. COL is batting .259 on the road, .272 versus right-handers, .269 over the last 7 days. Avoid
- Away Tyler Chatwood has been very solid on the year. I think it is safe to say that he will remain in the rotation moving forward. CIN is a tough team to face at home. They are batting .267 at home, .251 versus right-handers and .247 over the last 7 days.
Batters
- Home Joey Votto, Jay Bruce and Shin-Soo Choo are always solid plays at home versus a right-hander.
- Away COL has a .312 BAA vs. Arroyo so there are great BvPs to be had by almost everyone. Fowler, Cuddyer, Tulowitzki, and Gonzalez have all been hot.. Even Todd Helton has been producing lately. Arroyo has given up a ton of HRs on the year so consider everyone playayble.
Pittsburgh at Atlanta

- OU 7
- Favored ATL -120
Pitchers
- Home Kris Medlen is only a slight favorite at home. He is one of only a few guys going tonight that can be consider in a single pitcher format. Huge K/9 potential. PIT is batting .238 on the road, .241 versus right-handers and .225 over the last 7 days. Target
- Away I feel like the play of the day at pitcher will come from this game. A.J. Burnett has been solid all year and I like him on the road tonight. Plus, he gets the Braves so you can expect him to notch a few more Ks. ATL is batting .250 at home, .252 versus right-handers and .236 over the last 7 days. Target
Batters
- Home Freddie Freeman has been hot producing 28.75 fp over the last 7 days. He is also batting .319 versus right-handers. Brian McCann is 5-16 versus Burnett.
- Away Neil Walker is hot producing over 20 fp. Andrew McCutchen is 3-10 with 1 HR versus Medken.

OAK BvP | OAK vs R | MIL BvP | MIL vs L | ||||
| Note: Batter Splits Above Open in Pop Up Window | |||||||
Las Vegas
- OU 9
- Favored MIL -118
Pitchers
- Home The matchup we have all been waiting for Marco Estrada vs. Tommy Milone!. Just kidding. Estrada gets enough Ks to matter and is the slight favorite today but he is struggling with control and I think OAK gets to him again today. OAK is batting .256 on the road, .237 versus right-handers, and .257 over the last 7 days. Avoid
- Away In his last 2 starts Tommy Milone has given up 4 HRs Bad News for him. Good news for the Brewers hitters at home. He is 5.55 pitcher on the road this year and MIL bats well at home. MIL is batting .268 at home, .275 versus left-handers aand .270 over the last 7 days.
Batters
- Home MIL gets a left-hander at home. Ladies and Gentlemen start your MIL stacks
- Away OAK is a little cold right now but they should score some runs. Look to there LU for a few guys
