MLB Daily Grind Down June 8th Night Games Part 2

The RotoGrinders MLB Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the MLB schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit.
While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy baseball, there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, weather, and salaries. The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. No sport has more variance than baseball. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time. (any fp listed uses Fanduel’s scoring system)
When I looked at the way Friday was shaping up, I knew that a big name was going to take down the Q on Fanduel. With 3 rainouts and myriad of aces going, It was a tricky day. The advantage was given to the more skilled players. There are few more skilled than headchopper. I think he might be the first person to have qualified for all 3 championships on Fanduel and he is a fellow Houston boy so I have to love that. He lives in San Antonio now but we will not hold that against him. Never fear. There are plenty of Qs left for us to win because he cannot win them all. Though, he is coming close. Here is today’s Daily Grind Down to get your research started.

Pitchers
- Home After watching Archer pitch so well, how tempting does Stephen Fife look today? I thought long on Archer yesterday but I just could not pull the trigger versus that BAL team even though I thought he would pitch well. I do not have the same feeling about Fife but he has a much better matchup and has been a K per inning players so far. ATL is batting .240 on the road, .252 versus right-handers, and .228 over the last 7 days. The rank 12th in runs scored and have recorded the 2nd most Ks. In Play
- Away Kris Medlen has been a 3.93 pitcher on the road this year but LAD has a pretty forgiving park and he held this team scoreless in 7 IP the last time he faced them. LAD is batting .255 at home, .246 versus right-handers, and .245 over the last 7 days. They rank 27th in runs scored and have recorded the 8th fewest Ks.
Batters
- Home Andre Either and Hanley Ramirez have positive BvPs versus Medlen. Adrian Gonzalez is batting .312 versus right-handers and .362 at home. The young player Puig is off to a hot start.
- Away The left-handed bats are playable. Freddie Freeman is hot producing 22.25 fp over the last week. Brian McCann has a .304 average versus right-handers.

Pitchers
- Home Trevor Cahill has limited K/9 upside but his 2.66 home ERA makes him playable today with the reduced schedule of games. The last time he faced SFO he went * IP with 1 ER and 5 Ks. If you can get that type of performance tonight then you will be on your way to cashing in your GPP. SFO is batting .252 on the road, .264 versus right-handers, and .216 over the last 7 days. They rank 16th in runs scored and have recorded the 1st fewest Ks. In Play
- Away Madison Bumgarner road ERA is a bad 4.15. However, his one great road start came in ARI when he went 7 IP with 0 ER. His got more upside then Cahill because of his much higher K/9 but has a much worse matchup. If there were a full slate of games going today I would pick Madison over Cahill because the odds are someone would out pitched Cahill even if Bumgarner did not. There are only 14 pitches throwing in tonight’s action and only a handful of them are good so I am leaning towards Cahill but Bumgarner could be a nice against the grain play if you are looking for somewhere to gamble. ARI is batting .261 at home, .248 versus left-handers, and .286 over the last 7 days. They rank 11th in runs scored, and have recorded the 14th most Ks. In Play
Batters
- Home I think that the music that played whenever Darth Vadar entered the screen on Star Wars should start up when ever someone views Paul Godschmidt ‘s splits versus left-handers. Goldschmidt is on a tear with 49.25 fp over the last week. He is batting .317 versus left-handers. Will Nieves is batting .386 verses left-handers and .450 at home if he gets the start.
- Away SFO is slumping and after watching Corbin work them over last night. I think I will take a pass on them today. SFO is 24-106 with 0 HRs vs. Cahill.
