Pitcher Grind Down
- Bronson Arroyo – Arroyo is simply a good, but not great, MLB starting pitcher. He consistently delivers solid numbers but does not offer an upside that most DFS players are seeking. He’s struggled on the road this year but did pitch very well in his only other start versus Pittsburgh. Pitcher Rating: 5 out of 10
- Jeff Locke – After a tremendous first two months of the season, it appears that Locke is regressing into the pitcher that most people expected him to be. He’s posted a 5.43 ERA since the all-star break and is over priced on many sites due to his early success. Pitcher Rating: 4 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Lefties are hitting .285 versus Arroyo making Morneau, Alvarez and Walker decent targets if the asking price is right.
Pedro Alvarez (mentioned above) is 5 for 10 with three doubles and a homerun against Arroyo.
Despite being left-handed, lefties are hitting 60 points higher off of Locke than righties.

Pitcher Grind Down
- R.A. Dickey – Dickey’s knuckleball has not been nearly as effective this season as it was last year. He has pitched much better on the road (3.41 ERA) this season but was roughed up by the Red Sox in their only other meeting in 2013. Pitcher Rating: 4 out of 10
- Felix Doubront – Doubront hasn’t pitched for the Red Sox in over two weeks and had been roughed up in his last few outings before that. He has near elite strikeout potential but is just too inconsistent to trust in H2H and 50/50’s. Pitcher Rating: 4 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Will Middlebrooks are 3 for 3 off of Dickey, with all three hits going for extra bases (a double and two homeruns).
Jose Reyes is 6 for 12 with two doubles and a homerun against Doubront.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Scott Feldman – Feldman has flown somewhat under the radar, but has posted a 2.87 ERA since the All-Star break. He has pitched extremely well during the daytime, posting an ERA of just 2.07 over 61 innings. Pitcher Rating: 6 out of 10
- Enny Romero – I’ve never seen Romero pitch but he has a lot of people excited in Tampa. His fastball is said to reach the mid to upper 90’s but, judging my his numbers in the minors, he struggles with his control. If he’s cheap, then he makes for an intriguing GPP play. Pitcher Rating: 4 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
David Dejesus is 6 for 11 with a double, a homerun and six walks off of Feldman.
Matt Wieters is hitting 70 points higher versus left-handed pitching and should be well rested after getting the day off yesterday.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Alexi Ogando – Ogando is a solid pitcher but has a limited upside due to the fact that he rarely pitches very deep into ballgames. Pitcher Rating: 4 out of 10
- James Shields – Aside from an implosion on the mound in Detroit a few weeks ago, Shields has pitched extremely well for the Royals. His ERA at home this year is more than double his ERA on the road but he pitched very well against the Rangers in their only other meeting this season. Pitcher Rating: 6 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Elvis Andrus is 11 for 26 off of James Shields and has also homered twice this week.
Billy Butler is just 1 for 10 off of Ogando

Pitcher Grind Down
- Julio Teheran – Teheran has been very solid in his rookie year and has pitched very well down the stretch (2.77 ERA since the All-Star break). He’s averaging nearly a strikeout per inning and should have a solid game today against a weak hitting Cubs team. Pitcher Rating: 6 out of 10
- Edwin Jackson – Edwin Jackson is nothing more than a mediocre MLB pitcher. He has a limited upside and there are better options. Pitcher Rating: 4 out of 10
Batter Grind Down
Justin Upton is 6 for 8 with a pair of doubles and a homerun versus Edwin Jackson.
Freddie Freeman owns a .937 OPS versus right handed pitchers and is 4 for 8 off of Jackson (with a double, a triple and a homerun)
