What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – CIN -145
Pitcher Grind Down
CIN – This should be a fun series to watch. Mat Latos gets the start tonight and is looking to add another quality start to his resume this season. He has pitched well in the Great American Ballpark and should get some run support to help his cause to get the win. Rating = 7
OAK – Dan Straily is a bit too inconsistent for me and a matchup against the Reds offense in Cincinnati does not help his cause. Straily has an ERA around 4.50 on the road and is a pretty big underdog. Rating = 4
Batter Grind Down
CIN – I think all of the left hand bats of the Reds are in play against the righty Straily. That means Choo, Votto, and Bruce. All have the splits in their favor.
OAK – Latos is a guy that gets a good number of strikeouts and doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. The A’s are a tough team to predict anyway. Find some better options.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 6.5
- Favored Team – CWS -120
Pitcher Grind Down
CWS – Chris Sale has been almost unhittable at home this season where he has posted a 2.28 ERA and an insane 0.89 WHIP. The Yankees really struggle against left handed pitching and just got shut out by the other lefty starter from the White Sox. Great spot for Sale, just hope he can get some run support. Rating = 9
NYY – Hiroki Kuroda continues to fly under the radar even though he plays for the pinstripes. On the season, Kuroda has posted a 2.38 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. Those numbers rival any pitcher in baseball. I like the matchup for him tonight against the White Sox and I don’t think he will be on many people’s radar. Rating = 8
Batter Grind Down
CWS/NYY – Vegas expects this one to be very low scoring and so do I. Sale and Kuroda are both excellent pitchers so there aren’t going to be many runs to go around.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5

Pitcher Grind Down
HOU – It’s usually a good rule of thumb to stay away from the Astros starters. They all have high ERA’s and are rarely ever in line for the win thanks to that awesome offense of the Astros. Jordan Lyles has an ERA around 5 and a tough matchup against the Red Sox. Rating = 2
BOS – Steven Wright gets the nod tonight and will make his first career start. He is a knuckleball pitcher, so R.A. Dickey better watchout. I don’t know too much about Wright and I’m not sure how deep he will pitch into this game, but he is a good value play on multiple pitcher sites where he is really cheap. Rating = 5
Batter Grind Down
HOU – Can the Astros hit a knuckleball? We will find out tonight. Jose Altuve is in play at 2B, as is Jason Castro at catcher.
BOS – Not much BvP to go off of here, but you have to love the Red Sox bats tonight. So far of all the games we’ve analyzed, they are my favorite team to stack. Favorites of the bunch are the lefties Jacoby Ellsbury and David Ortiz.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – KC -200
Pitcher Grind Down
KC – The Royals are on an incredible run right now, they are on fire! And now they are a -200 favorite for the first time that I can ever remember. This could be a perfect spot for a big letdown, but they wouldn’t do that to us. James Shields gets the start tonight and is definitely in play considering his opponent and how big of a favorite he is. Rating = 9
MIN – Andrew Albers has been impressive so far in the minor leagues, but he is running into a buzz saw that is the Royals. My philosophy with young pitchers making their first starts is to take a wait and see approach, so I’ll be avoiding him tonight. Rating = 3
Batter Grind Down
KC – Albers is a lefty so if you are going to target any of the Royals tonight, try to take the right hand bats. That includes Lorenzo Cain, Billy Butler, and Alcides Escobar.
MIN – Shields is a good pitcher with a good K rate. Sure Morneau has good numbers against him, but Morneau has really struggled on the road this year and I think the Royals just keep on winning.

LAD vs R | LAD BvP | STL vs L | STL BvP | ||||||
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 6.5
- Favored Team – LAD -145
Pitcher Grind Down
STL – Joe Kelly not only faces a Dodgers team that has now won 15 straight road games, but he has to pitch on the same night as Clayton Kershaw. Nothing against Kelly, but when a team is that hot, I don’t want to take a pitcher against them. Rating = 3
LAD – One quick look at the line of this game and you can easily figure out that Clayton Kershaw is the starter for the Dodgers. Kershaw has a tough matchup tonight against these Cardinals. It doesn’t look like Vegas is worried too much about it, but Beltran, Holliday, Freese, and Craig are all excellent against lefties so it will be interesting to see how this one turns out. Rating = 7
Batter Grind Down
STL – Expect a very low scoring game. Like I said, the Cardinals have batters that are good against lefties, but at the end of the day, are you really going to take a hitter against Kershaw?
LAD – Dodgers are certainly in play tonight against Kelly. I really like the left hand bats of Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez, I think both of them will have good games against the righty.
