Happy Saturday, Grinders! The usual split slate is upon us for the start of Father’s Day weekend, with an even split of 7 early games and 7 late games today. If you are wondering why there are only 14 games today instead of the full 15, the STL/KCR series is paused for today with Kansas City hosting a World Cup game. In any event, this day is split right down the middle. FanDuel has split up the early games into 2 different slates with small prize pools, so I will focus my early analysis on the full 7-game DK slate before digging into the night slate on both sites.

The weather forecast looks all clear everywhere today, so we shouldn’t have to worry about that at all. It’s all systems go for lineup building.

Let’s dive in and see what the start of the weekend has available for MLB DFS picks!

Saturday Afternoon Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

Sale of the Braves

TOP TIER PITCHERS

This is not a super exciting slate overall, but we do have a headliner game with the Brewers and Braves facing off in Atlanta with both teams throwing their aces. Kyle Harrison and Chris Sale are the top pitchers available this afternoon, with a surging Max Meyer also entering the conversation. As usual, I will start with a look at the 2026 data for these pitchers:

Sale – 2.30 ERA, 3.10 xFIP, 28.8% K, 6.3% BB
Harrison – 2.47 ERA, 3.17 xFIP, 30.0% K, 6.7% BB
Meyer – 2.75 ERA, 3.73 xFIP, 26.9% K, 9.1% BB

You really can’t go wrong with any of these pitchers, as they all have ERAs well under 3.00 with very strong strikeout upside. I’ll side with the long track record of Sale as my SP1, though the decision certainly isn’t a runaway. His results have been a little less impressive over his last couple of outings, but the overall profile is still fantastic. He has struck out 6+ batters in all but one start this season, giving him a rock solid floor to go along with his ceiling. For all the good things the Brewers do, they don’t hit lefties well, which is another boost to Sale. The Brewers rank just 22nd in the league in team wOBA and 29th in team ISO against LHP this year.

On the other side of this game, Harrison is a fine option in his own right. The Braves have a more dangerous lineup against lefties but still don’t grade out as an elite unit, especially with Ronald Acuna Jr. on the injured list right now. Harrison just out-pitched Cristopher Sanchez last weekend, so he is certainly capable of out-pitching virtually any arm on the right day. His 30% strikeout rate doesn’t quite seem sustainable given his sub-14% swinging-strike rate, but Harrison is still an ace-level pitcher. That said…

I prefer Max Meyer as the tournament pivot away from Chris Sale. Meyer has a similar swinging-strike rate to Harrison, he will likely be lower owned, and I like the matchup against a Giants lineup that remains weak on the whole despite a hot stretch a couple weeks ago. The tricky part is that the Giants have the 3rd-lowest strikeout rate against RHP this year. However, they also have the lowest team walk rate, which plays into Meyer’s hands. I like his odds to put up a strong game today.

All of the pitchers in this tier are very much viable, but I am ranking my interest level as Sale > Meyer > Harrison today, especially in tournaments. I would probably put Harrison a nose ahead of Meyer for cash games, but you can just play Sale there.
