Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I prefer smaller-field contests tonight, where we can avoid all the random dart-throwing at offenses that really don’t look particularly good on this slate. The Yankees are the only stack I really love, and I think my primary way to be different is not to worry about stacking at all. There are so many pitching options in all price ranges that I can fill out a lineup with the individual bats that I love at nearly every position. I’m going to fade all of the expensive pitchers other than Gavin Williams and play a mix of cheaper SP2s (e.g. Gage Jump, Grayson Rodriguez, Kyle Freeland).

ebeimfohr: I will be focusing more on smaller-field tournaments, and my pitching pool is both small and pretty chalky. Gavin Williams is my SP1, and I would certainly like it if I can get Chris Sale with him on DK. If I can’t, the Gage Jump value is up next, and neither of those two paths are likely to be particularly unique. So I’ll be looking for some high-powered offenses in upside spots that are lagging behind in pOWN%. As of this morning, that’s looking like the Yankees and Braves jumping off the page through that lens, but I’ll also check back closer to lock at our MLB DFS optimizer (LineupHQ) and MLB DFS sims tool (SimLabs).

boggslite: I’m playing single-entry tournaments. I don’t love the upside from the pitchers up top based on their matchups, so I won’t force them into my lineups. Instead, I will look to some of the cheaper options, with Landen Roupp and Gage Jump. Roupp is the “safer” option due to a home matchup against the Rockies, but Jump has the better matchup and strikeout upside. Instead of full-stacking, I’ll instead try to build some mini stacks, which should be more viable with the savings I get from SP.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. It’s a strange slate, as I don’t love any offense or fear not having a specific team, and no offense has an implied team total above 5 runs. I don’t feel the need to double-barrel and roster two of Chris Sale, Gavin Williams, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Gerrit Cole, but I’ll likely have the salary to do it on DK, so that is what I’ll likely do. If I do get away from the pricey arms on DK, I’d likely punt with Kyle Freeland or Gage Jump. On FD, I don’t see any reason to stray from those SPs, as salaries are pretty loose over there. As for DK, I can get to two of my favorite offenses (Nationals and Yankees) and roster two of the top SPs, so that is what I’ll likely do.
