Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

boggslite: Shohei Ohtani
Dean78904: Shohei Ohtani
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I prefer smaller-field contests tonight, as I have a very narrowed-down pool on both sides, despite it being a large slate with a ton to like. I will prioritize the Dodgers and Yankees (on DK) over the Pirates, although I don’t think that will end up being all that sneaky. I am also finding enough cheap bats with upside that I am not going to overthink it with Jacob Misiorowski. I will also have some double-ace builds on DK with cheaper stacks like Cleveland, but for the most part, I will use a cheaper SP2, stack Dodgers or Yankees, and fill in with cheap bats around them.
ebeimfohr: I am generally a smaller-field player, and that’s where my focus definitely lies tonight. I actually think there are several quality pitching options at various price points, but I think Jacob Misiorowski has elevated to unfadeable status in these types of fields for me. So I will be looking to pivot with my bats to some options projecting for lesser ownership while targeting something more off the beaten path at SP2 on DK to pair with a popular and expensive Miz.
boggslite: I’m playing single-entry tournaments. Paying up for pitching will be a priority for me, with Jacob Misiorowski and Cam Schlittler (DK only) my top targets based on their strikeout upside. It’s always scary fading Coors Field and the Dodgers, but without any reliable cheap pitchers, I can’t seem to get there. Instead, I will look to some cheaper bats from the Angels, Royals, and Yankees (DK only).
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I very much want to prioritize Jacob Misiorowski. If I can’t somehow make The Miz work, both Cam Schlittler and Jacob deGrom have excellent matchups and make for a fabulous consolation prize. I expect to have at least one of those studs in every lineup, and I will at least see what pairing two together looks like and if there are enough appealing salary savers to make it work. There are 4 teams (5 on DK with the Yankees) with an implied team total of 5.5 runs or higher. With that in mind, and considering how big the slate is, I’m not sure if any of them will get too chalky, even if they are worthy of it on the surface. I expect to mostly focus on the “obvious” offenses, but if one team among the Dodgers, Pirates, Rockies, A’s, and Yankees projects to be distinctly more popular than the rest, I’m fine ignoring them.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
