MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, May 22

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Corbin Carroll
ebeimfohr: Corbin Carroll
Dean78904: Corbin Carroll

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I prefer smaller-field tournaments tonight where I can focus on a very small pitching pool and easily get ahead of the field on my favorite bats. I don’t think it’s likely that anything other than Arizona and maybe Atlanta get chalky enough to matter, so I’ll be more focused on the Yankees, Rangers, Orioles, and Tigers.

ebeimfohr: I am focusing on smaller-field, single-entry-style tournaments with a clear focus on the top pitching, led by Jacob deGrom. While I’m eating deGrom’s likely massive ownership, that means I will be pivoting away from the chalkier bats like the Diamondbacks and finding upside at lower pOWN%, specifically in the DET/BAL game.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I’m just leaning in on the presumed Jacob deGrom uber-chalk. As for my SP2, I don’t have a strong lean as I expect to rotate through/play whoever fits among Davis Martin, Logan Gilbert, Payton Tolle, Mike Soroka, and possibly Eury Perez if I’m desperate for salary. There are two teams with totals above 5.0 (Braves and Diamondbacks), and I like them fine, but I expect to avoid pairing them together, and I probably won’t fully stack either. I’m more likely to have my main lineup with a 3-3-2 construction, potentially working in pieces from the Yankees, Rangers, and Mets.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
