MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, April 6
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
headChopper: Yordan Alvarez
ebeimfohr: Yordan Alvarez
boggslite: Yordan Alvarez
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I’ll mostly be playing in large-field GPPs with multiple entries. I’ll cut my core of pitchers down to about five guys, and then I will run various stack sizes in the large-field, flagship GPPs – some 5-0, 4-0, 3-3 stacks, etc. Despite carrying some big pOWN%, I’ll be overweight on the Astros stacks. I’ll do it by staying on par with the field on the chalkier options like Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Pena but being overweight on the lower-pOWN% guys at the bottom of the order.
ebeimfohr: Smaller-field / single-entry tournaments – In these fields, I’ll be focusing on a super-tight core with a few spots that stand out far above the rest, both on the pitching and hitting sides. There is no real depth of pitching options, so that is generally going to lead to playing chalkier there, with Chris Sale as my top option. On the hitting side, while I certainly like Coors as much as the next person, the Dodgers (other than Shohei Ohtani), who are lagging far behind in pOWN%, are my favorite way to play these types of contests.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – Houston immediately stands out playing in Coors Field, but I want to pay up for pitching, making Baltimore my top overall stack. The Dodgers, White Sox, and Rockies are interesting as well, so I will likely spread my exposure around to those teams rather than simply load up on the Astros.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
