MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, May 11
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
headChopper: Yordan Alvarez
ebeimfohr: Shohei Ohtani
boggslite: Shohei Ohtani (FD) / Aaron Judge (DK)
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I prefer small-field tournaments that have limited entries, although I will also fire off some lineups in multi-entry contests on FanDuel. I think nearly half the pitcher pool can be lumped into the same solid category, which means no one truly separates themselves, so that position will be more of a pOWN% play. Some of the higher team totals on the board come from teams that I don’t think stand out – they are just getting that big number based on history as an offense and not necessarily matchup. So I will be underweight on teams like the Dodgers and Yankees. I think I am going to try and force exposure to the Astros, who I think can hit some home runs tonight.
ebeimfohr: No starting pitchers truly stand out on either site, but there are a couple of offenses that have a sizable gap on the field (especially the Yankees on DK). With that, I’ll be pivoting more down the pOWN% ladder at pitcher while primarily focusing on the top offenses. I’ll also be willing to take some risks on the cheaper pitchers in order to get into a different roster build around the top bats.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – There are several good but not “must-play” pitchers, which will likely lead to me spreading my exposure around rather than narrowing my pitching pool. I plan on building around the Yankees (on DK) and Dodgers in stacks, but I also think the Giants are in play in what could be a sneaky, high-scoring game in LA tonight.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
