What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I’m playing a single lineup in small-field GPPs and might not roster more than two players from any team, since I like the Dodgers, Angels, Red Sox, and Twins fairly equally. The lack of full stacking should make me different, and I’ll build a lineup combining those four teams.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – Paying up for pitching will be a priority for me. Garrett Crochet and Bryan Woo are my top options to pay up for, and I think their upside is clearly worth spending on over some of the cheaper options on the mound. The Dodgers are my top overall stack, but I will focus on the lefties in the lineup and target some of the cheaper bats near the bottom of the order.
ebeimfohr: The slate has some really high-quality arms in really good matchups that I don’t plan to stray away from. So, with a focus on smaller-field tournaments, I will be looking to get different with my bats and stacks, particularly honing in on the Mariners against Miles Mikolas and a bad Cards pen.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
headChopper: Bryan Woo — Tyler Glasnow projects as the best point-per-dollar pitcher on DraftKings, but his cheap price will drive heavy ownership. Woo is at home against a mediocre Cardinals lineup with the slate’s lowest team total, and his 5.1% walk rate, compared to Glasnow’s 11.5%, makes him a safer option.
