What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I prefer MME on this slate, especially on DK, mostly because of how evenly spread out I want to be at SP2. I can’t put any separation between this large group of pitchers: Robbie Ray, Bryce Miller, Tanner Bibee, Taj Bradley, and Brady Singer. You could reasonably include Chris Bassitt and AJ Smith-Shawver there as well, and I don’t want to try to pick the right one for a single bullet. Likewise, with stacks, outside of the Braves, it’s a tangled mess where I want to have even exposure to the A’s, Rockies, Mariners, Mets, Blue Jays, Reds, and Guardians.

Krayton: I will be playing singe-entry contests along with 20-entry max contests on both sites, and 7-game slates are some of my favorite-sized slates. I agree with Cheese that there doesn’t appear to be a lot of separation among some of the mid-high tier pitchers. I normally like to have a pretty small pitching pool, but I will be building my stacks first and then looking to get exposure to Jacob deGrom, Taj Bradley, Brady Singer, Tanner Bibee, and Chris Bassitt. ATL is my top stack, and then I also like getting exposure to CIN, SEA, and the Coors game.

TJ Zwarych: I plan to play large-field GPPs with either 20 or 150 lineups. Regardless, I plan to be underweight on the Coors Field game while overweight on the Braves, Guardians, Reds, and Blue Jays. I plan to keep a pretty tight pitching pool, with deGrom likely being in at least 75% of my lineups.

tcsmith031: I like this slate for large-field, multi-entry GPPs. As was the case last night, I’m fine eating the chalky primary stack (ATL) while mixing it up with my secondary stack and pitching. There’s some upside in some potentially lower-owned SP2s, including Taj Bradley, Brady Singer, and Chris Bassitt, and I’ll likely be over the field on all of them.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
