MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, August 1
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
stlcardinals84: Kevin McGonigle
Krayton: Kevin McGonigle
TJ Zwarych: James Wood
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20-25 entries in the large-field tournaments. I love this slate, as you can attack it from a lot of different angles. I plan to be significantly overweight on David Peterson (weather pending) as a cheap pitching option, which will allow me to be overweight on expensive, high-upside stacks like the Braves, Tigers, and Rockies on a slate that is loaded with bats.
Krayton: I will be playing more multi-entry contests, as I want to focus on my top three stacks, the Tigers, Rockies, and Nationals. The Nationals usually come in lower-owned, and I will always have significant exposure to this offense, as it is one of the best in all of baseball. David Peterson stands out as an elite value, and I will be overweight on him on both sites in order to get the higher-priced bats into my lineups. I like having a smaller pool for stacks tonight, and Peterson will be my highest-owned pitcher.
TJ Zwarych: I will be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I plan to load up on the Tigers, Rockies, Braves, and Nationals as my top options. I’ll get as much Cristopher Sanchez and Jacob deGrom as I can, and I’ll use a lot of David Peterson to save salary as well.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
