MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, August 8
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
stlcardinals84: Shohei Ohtani
Krayton: Shohei Ohtani
TJ Zwarych: Shohei Ohtani
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in large-field tournaments. I am taking a clear stand with Gavin Williams as my favorite spend-up pitcher, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto close behind. I will be intentionally underweight on a struggling Jacob deGrom. I plan to spread out my stack exposure a bit, and I plan to have limited exposure to the likely chalky Cubs.
Krayton: I will be playing some single-entry and 20-max contests on both sites. One of my biggest stances will be going underweight on Jacob deGrom at pitcher, as he’s projecting to be one of the more popular pitchers. Gavin Williams and Griffin Jax will be my highest-owned pitchers, and the Dodgers, Cubs, Tigers, and even the Rockies will be some of my favorite stacks.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing one lineup in single-entry contests, and I plan to fade the chalky Jacob deGrom at pitcher. The Cubs are my top stack, and since they’re picking up a fair amount of projected ownership, I’ll look to get unique and pick lower-owned one-offs and/or a sneakier secondary stack like the Royals, Rockies, or Cardinals.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
