MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, July 20

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: This is an interesting slate, as we have a lot of good pitchers going tonight. However, many of them struggled in their last start or two before the All-Star Break. I am going to take an overweight stance on both Dylan Cease and Brady Singer as my “flag plant” pitching options today, while I will be underweight on Logan Webb. I am also going to take a positive stance on a few offensive stacks, especially the Royals and Red Sox.

Krayton: I will be spreading out my pitching exposure more than usual today while focusing more on the bats and stacks that I like. I like the Coors game today, and I also like getting to BAL, LAD, and ARI, some of my favorite sneakier stacks today. BAL and ARI are both currently projected at very low ownership even though they are checking in as the 3rd and 4th top teams in optimal projections.

tcsmith031: It looks like the Giants and Royals will be the chalk again, but there are plenty of other offenses in favorable spots worth targeting. Going underweight on the chalky bats looks like the route I’ll take in tournaments. Stacks like the Orioles, Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Red Sox, and Cardinals (DK only) don’t grade out much worse than the teams projected to attract more attention, yet we’ll get an ownership discount on all of them.

Bobby Gomes: On a nine game main slate, we have pitching up top and a middle tier. I’ll spread out exposure on Dylan Cease all the way down to Logan Webb. My primary stacks will include both sides of Coors field, the Red Sox, and the D-Backs. As an MME player, I want to have exposure to the teams that have the highest implied run totals. There are four games on the main slate that have 8.5 or more implied run totals.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
