MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Saturday, May 9
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
CheeseIsGood: Munetaka Murakami
Krayton: Munetaka Murakami
TJ Zwarych: Shohei Ohtani
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I have a pretty small player pool tonight, and a lot of it does not even appear to be overly chalky, so I’ll lean more toward smaller-field and single-entry contests tonight. I certainly like Seattle, but if that is the one team on this slate that gets all the ownership, that’s something I’m willing to be underweight on. I love the Dodgers at likely low ownership against a guy who may not ever be Spencer Strider again. I’m keeping a tighter pitching pool as well, with Cam Schlittler and Braxton Ashcraft being at the top of my board.
Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-max contests on both sites. My biggest stand is going overweight on the Dodgers. They have been carrying low ownership with their slower start the season, and they are loaded with too much talent to come in at ownership this low. Cam Schlittler and Braxton Ashcraft will be my highest-owned pitchers.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments. I plan to go underweight on some of the more popular teams like the Mets and Padres, while I’ll be loading up on the White Sox, Mariners, and Dodgers. I’m going to keep a pretty tight pitching pool, fading the chalky Edward Cabrera and Spencer Strider.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
