MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, July 12

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

stlcardinals84: Seiya Suzuki
Krayton: Seiya Suzuki
TJ Zwarych: Seiya Suzuki

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in the larger-field tournaments. This is a tricky slate that is heavily weighted toward pitching, and I always expect lower-scoring games in the final day before the All-Star Break, as hitters are simply ready to get on with the breather that comes along with the next few days. I will spend up at pitcher in most of my lineups, with Tarik Skubal and Taj Bradley being my two favorites by a wide margin. I’ll have a relatively narrow focus with my stacks, and I will make sure to be overweight on the Orioles, Yankees, and Rangers.

Krayton: I will be playing 20-max and single-entry contests on both sites, and I expect to have a tight pitching pool of Tarik Skubal, Zack Wheeler, and Taj Bradley at the top along with Matthew Boyd and Ian Seymour. Even though we have a large slate before the All-Star Break, one of the stances I am taking for bats is to be overweight on the Nationals, who aren’t projected for much ownership. The White Sox and Orioles are other offenses that stand out as teams that I want exposure to.

TJ Zwarych: My preference is to play 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I plan to stick mostly to the quartet of Tarik Skubal, Zack Wheeler, Taj Bradley, and Ian Seymour. No offense stands out as by far the best option, so I’ll mix and match all of the offenses with these pitchers.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
