What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I’m playing small-field contests with limited entries. I can poke holes in every single starting pitcher tonight, and although Spencer Strider is the clear number one option, he’s no exception. So, I think pitcher is a spot to easily get different. Hitting has several solid spots to target, so mixing-and-matching from different teams shouldn’t be an issue in tournaments to find leverage.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and small-field contests. We’re currently projecting Spencer Strider to be heavily rostered (43% FD / 64% DK). I don’t make a lot of lineups, but the current plan is to roster Strider at least even with the field. I also like attacking him with A’s in the lineups without Strider. I don’t even think it’s completely bonkers to pair Strider with an A or two on DK, as SP2 options are just that unappealing. I will be in full homer-hunting mode, as literally every SP on the slate has allowed at least 1 HR/9, with 9 of the 14 having served up at least 1.32 HR/9 this season. The slate is pretty wide open offensively, with the Braves, Angels, Diamondbacks, and A’s as my favorite offenses to find HRs tonight.
ebeimfohr: I am a smaller-field, single-entry style player, and I am a big fan of these slates. We have one mega, mega chalk pitcher in Spencer Strider; however, there are some pretty real reasons for concern. In these instances, I love to X out Strider and build the “best” team I can in these fields while worrying only slightly about ownership in the rest of the lineup(s).
