MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, July 2

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

headChopper: Shohei Ohtani
Notorious: Shohei Ohtani
TastefulTides: Shohei Ohtani

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

headChopper: I am playing small-field tournaments tonight with one lineup. I am spending up on both pitchers on DraftKings and spending up on the one pitcher on FanDuel, then I’ll save at hitter. With some solid spots to attack, there are no massive 6+ team totals like we have seen over the last few slates in Coors Field or with Wrigley Field, so hitting is not a priority spend for me. Given the small nature of the slate, I will probably not end up with any stack larger than three batters.

Notorious: I like playing small-field tournaments. My favorite offense on tonight’s slate is the Dodgers, and they are very expensive. I have to imagine most will only be able to target one or two hitters from this offense, especially if they are spending up on pitching. On FanDuel, I like the idea of using Roki Sasaki as my SP1 to save some salary, and I also like using him as my SP2 on DraftKings. To make the Dodgers stack work, I’m going to roster some very cheap values like Lane Thomas and Cooper Ingle.

TastefulTides: Single-entry tournaments and small-field tournaments are my preferred formats. We are void of great hitting environments, so that means I will look to allocate my salary more aggressively toward pitchers. With only a 6-game slate, ownership is going to condense on only a small number of stacks. I think today is a good day to get contrarian with bats.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
