MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, July 9

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

headChopper: Kyle Schwarber
stevietpfl: Kyle Schwarber
Notorious: Kyle Schwarber

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

headChopper: On DraftKings, I am playing small-field tournaments, and on FanDuel, I am multi-entering large-field tournaments. I am spending up at pitcher on FanDuel and at SP1 on DraftKings. While I would like to take a more expensive SP2 and still might, I like the idea of saving with Jack Perkins since Detroit has loaded the lineup with left-handed bats, and Perkins has a nasty sweeper to lefties that they have trouble hitting. I will be overweight on the Phillies as my favorite stack, and from there, I’ll chase some cheap value. I’ll wait for MLB lineups to come out and see if anyone is cheap and moved up in the order. After that Phillies exposure, I’ll probably have no stacks and just a bunch of one-offs.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments and build around Nathan EovaldiBryce MillerReid Detmers, and Jesus Luzardo. I don’t want to play any other pitcher. I’m going to be focused on bats from the Phillies, Tigers, Padres, and Giants. I’m going to mix those pitchers with these offenses, with the focus around full stacks. With the hitting spots, I think at least one of these offenses will have a massive night.

Notorious: I am going to play small-field tournaments. While I am going to eat some chalk at pitcher (Nathan Eovaldi) and with some hitters (Phillies), I am going to have more exposure than the field to the Giants and Padres. They typically aren’t popular offenses, but they are both in great spots at home. On DraftKings, I’m going to use Framber Valdez as my SP2. He’s been a very boom-or-bust pitcher, which should help on the ownership front.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
