MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, June 11
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
headChopper: Pete Crow-Armstrong
stevietpfl: Ian Happ
Notorious: Ian Happ
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in large-field tournaments?
headChopper: Bobby Witt Jr.
stevietpfl: Hunter Goodman
Notorious: Liam Hicks
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: Smaller fields that have limited entries is my preferred contest choice today. These implied team totals are crazy. No team has a total under 4.2 runs. There are no big-name pitchers either. I think I will work in my hitters first and get the best squad I feel comfortable with, and then I will find some pitching, even if it’s cheap. There may be no opportunity cost at pitcher. The Cubs have failed as chalk 2 games in a row at Coors Field, and I am betting it won’t be a 3rd game, so I’ll be heavy on Cubs stacks.
stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field contests. This might be the worst pitching slate of the season. With that said, we still need to choose pitchers to roster. I’m going to focus on pitchers who can limit the damage and have strikeout upside to offset giving up a few runs. I think you could make an argument for any of these offenses. I’m going to open up my stack rules and build more 3-3-2 lineups than I typically do.
Notorious: My attention will be on small-field tournaments. The pitching options are far from ideal, which means some bad pitchers are going to be chalky. My favorite fade is Merrill Kelly, who projects for the 2nd-most ownership at pitcher as of late morning. He boasts a 7.63 xERA this season, which is one of the worst in baseball. I’m going to stack the Marlins, which will hopefully help me be a little unique, because I am also planning to load up on the Cubs in Coors Field.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
