MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, May 9

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

squirrelpatrol: Bobby Witt
headChopper: Jose Ramirez
Dean78904: Bobby Witt
ebeimfohr: Jose Ramirez

Who is your favorite sneaky stack on the board and why?

squirrelpatrol: Royals – We only have 6 teams to choose from, but the Royals have everything I’m looking for in a stack, with power, speed, good producers, tough-to-fill positions, and guaranteed 9th-inning plate appearances as the road team. Bobby Witt has a .413 wOBA and 13 SBs this season, and Salvador Perez has a .233 ISO.

headChopper: Cardinals – Riding with the Cardinals here as alluded to in my blurb above. Tobias Myers looked fine in his first start, but then the last 2 starts have been much more difficult. 4 walks in 3 innings last outing and 8 runs over the last 8 innings are a red flag that I want to attack on a small slate.

Dean78904: Cardinals – Theoretically, the Cardinals have a competent lineup, but the reality is that the combination of the aging “used to be good” veterans and underwhelming prospects has led to a bottom-5 offense this season. Officially, big picture, I’m bearish on the Cards, but in DFS, we care about today and today only. Today, I’m just home-run hunting, versus a pitcher who has been serving them up, in the hopes that he’ll wake up the STL bats, if only for a day. They are mostly cheap, and it wasn’t that long ago that they flashed power upside. Fire up PlateIQ, switch from 2023 to 2024, and you’ll see how fast green can turn to red. The Cardinals will also benefit from a positive ballpark bump and are guaranteed to have their 9th-inning at-bats.

ebeimfohr: White Sox – Sticking with my White Sox and leverage here. Ben Lively has been solid, but he’s not the kind of pitcher who I love at high projected ownership. The White Sox are obviously a bad team, but they added Tommy Pham and got Eloy Jimenez back, so there is at least a little bit of juice in the lineup. The weather may also keep some people off of the bats here, but it’s incredibly muggy in Chicago with winds out to right field.
