MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 14

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

CheeseIsGood: Aaron Judge
headChopper: Aaron Judge
stevietpfl: Aaron Judge
Dean78904: Aaron Judge

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I prefer smaller-field and single-entry contests on this slate. I don’t find enough offense that I like to want to be drastically overweight on anything, and I also don’t think we get anything so chalky that it needs to be faded in smaller contests. While there is a ton of good pitching, I am narrowing my pool quite a bit to mostly MacKenzie Gore, Jacob Misiorowski, and Kevin Gausman up top and then some salary savers (e.g. Ryan Weathers, Joey Cantillo).

headChopper: I am playing just 1 lineup on each site, mainly in smaller-field tournaments. There are no pitchers on DK that exceed $9,500, so I will more than likely spend up on both pitching spots there and spend up on the one spot on FanDuel as well. With several good offenses in good matchups, I don’t think it will be hard to get different. On DK, I just won’t have a 5-man stack – I’ll break it up a little and maybe go with 2 or 3 small stacks. On FanDuel, I’ll probably do a 4-man stack and the rest one-offs, which is usually an easy way to get different from everyone else.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field contests. I like this slate a lot, and I’m struggling to narrow my pitcher pool down. I like 8 pitchers and think there are a lot of ceiling options. I don’t want to play any pitchers in low-strikeout matchups because we have so many strong options. I’m going to end up under the field on the Yankees stack, which will be my biggest stand on this slate. I like Houston and Cleveland, and when playing the Yankees, I’ll pair them with teams projecting for lower ownership, like the Marlins.

Dean78904: I prefer single-entry and smaller-field contests. It is early and close, but Sonny Gray has one of the highest pOWN% numbers at SP. I’m begging for Gray to be chalk, as I couldn’t fully fade him and his 15.2% K rate fast enough. I expect to prioritize pitching, with MacKenzie Gore, Jacob Misiorowski, Kevin Gausman, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto being the core of my pool. I don’t really love any offense or see any as a must-have, as the only team with an implied run total of 5+ is the Yankees. I like them plenty, but I’d be hesitant to roster their pinch-hit risks outside of full stacks. That said, I’m more likely to use 3-3-2 / 4-2-2 type of stack constructions.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
