Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: While I will have some single-entry lineups, there is just too much to love for me to narrow it down too far, so my preference is MME…or at least getting to 20-ish lineups where I can get to something like the 5-6 pitchers and 5-7 offenses that I love. There is enough to love on both sides that even if some things end up chalkier than others, I don’t think we end up with a concerning level of ownership on anything. I’m going to just play my favorite plays, which leaves me with Dylan Cease, Hunter Brown, Sean Burke, and Ryan Weathers at pitcher, and I’m leaning more into cheaper stacks (e.g. Orioles, Rangers) in order to afford some higher-end one-offs around them.

headChopper: I am registered for one lineup on each site that I will build by hand, mainly for small-field tournaments. At this point, Hunter Brown is my preferred pitcher on FD and will probably be one of the two pitchers I use on DK as well. On FD, his salary still allows me to build a 4-man stack of basically whatever offense I like best. He’s cheap enough that lineup construction is pretty easy over there. On DK, the question is whether to spend up at SP2 for Dylan Cease (or even Cristopher Sanchez) or save some money and help out the hitters. Cease has been great, and the Boston matchup isn’t particularly difficult by the numbers, although they are a hot team right now. Before deciding which direction to go, I’ll wait and see if any cheap value bats pop up once MLB lineups are released.

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments. This slate offers everything. We have great hitting options and more than 5 playable pitchers on both sites. I’m going to narrow down both my pitching and hitting pools for my 3-5 lineups. Starting with pitching, I’m going to fade Dylan Cease. The Red Sox are a high-contact offense, and at his price, I want to play him for strikeout upside. I’m going to narrow my pool down to Sean Burke, Hunter Brown, Blake Snell, Ryan Weathers, and Bryan Woo. For hitting, I want to be overweight on Tampa, Arizona, and Texas. I’ll use the White Sox righties, Baltimore lefties, Rockies righties, Houston righties, and Athletics as one-offs and secondary stacks.

Dean78904: I focus mostly on single-entry and smaller-field contests. On the whole tonight, I prefer arms over bats, so I expect to prioritize paying up for pitching and forcing myself to pinch pennies a little with my offense. With that said, my pitching pool will likely be restricted to Dylan Cease, Sean Burke, Hunter Brown, Cristopher Sanchez, and Ryan Weathers. Texas and Baltimore are my favorite teams when it comes to being compatible with expensive pitching, as they both have cheap pieces with power upside. This will inevitably lead to me being under the field on both the Rays and Dodgers.
