MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, April 22

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

stevietpfl: Fernando Tatis Jr.
Notorious: Fernando Tatis Jr.
TJ Zwarych: Fernando Tatis Jr.

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments. As much as I like the Padres, they’re getting a lot of pOWN%. I’ll have some exposure to them, but I plan on being underweight. I think the Braves, Cubs, Diamondbacks, and Rockies have similar ceilings as the Padres at much lower pOWN%. I’m not getting cute at pitcher. I’m going to play Shohei Ohtani, Max Fried, and Braxton Ashcraft. I’ll mix in some Jack Leiter and Casey Mize as well.

Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. I have a hard time avoiding the Padres, even though they are going to be popular. They have an elite matchup against Tomoyuki Sugano, and they get to face him in Coors Field. He has a 6.04 xERA with a strikeout rate of only 16%. He has struggled with batters from both sides of the plate. Since I’m eating the San Diego chalk, I’m looking to get a little different at pitcher with Casey Mize and Matthew Boyd.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I’ll have a similar strategy to what I did last night, which is to fade the Padres entirely. I don’t think they’ll get shut down as heavily as yesterday, but there are enough other stacks I like better at lower projected ownership (e.g. Colorado, Atlanta) that I’m comfortable fully fading the Padres.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
