What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stevietpfl: I will be focusing on single-entry contests, 3-entry-max contests, and 20-entry-max contests. I’ll talk more about Matthew Boyd below, but I’m going to take a big stand on him. On slates like this, I know my pitching is going to be a little different, so I’m not worried about my stack’s ownership. Cubs, Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox, and Brewers are my main teams to target. I’ll have a little exposure to mini stacks of the Blue Jays, White Sox, Reds (DK), and Phillies.
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 20 entries in the large-field tournaments. This is a really interesting slate that lacks options from the pitching side but has tons of offense. I am going to lean into the NYY/BAL game, as I love both offenses. We saw the Yankees pounce for 15 runs last night in great hitting weather, and both offenses are super dangerous and are facing below-average pitchers. I will be significantly overweight on these two teams.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – I’ll largely eat the chalk at pitcher and spread out my stack exposure. The Reds are my favorite of the popular stacks, with the Orioles not far behind. The Royals are a decent bet as a contrarian stack.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups tonight in large-field GPPs, and I want to get as overweight as possible on both sides of the NYY/BAL game. Carlos Carrasco isn’t the pitcher he once was and struggles against both sides of the plate, while Cade Povich has been pummeled to the tune of a .232 ISO against right-handed bats so far this season. I’ll have twice as much Orioles and Yankees as any other stack.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
