What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: I like all formats tonight, but my preference would be smaller-field and single-entry tournaments where we should find more chalk to fade. I’m not as all-out on Houston as I was last night, but I do want to fade then in smaller-field tournaments where the ownership should increase. Adding in a few cheaper Boston and Texas bats, we are left with a huge group of top-tier offenses that should see basically no ownership. Even the Dodgers could be contrarian in smaller fields, but it certainly teams like the Cubs and Diamondbacks will fly far under the radar. By fading those couple of top offenses, I can just play the Logan Gilbert chalk at pitcher, and then I’ll mix-and-match some cheaper SP2s, with Yusei Kikuchi and Shota Imanaga being my favorites.
stlcardinals84: I am going with a single-entry approach tonight, as I am traveling and will not have much time to pivot for late scratches or weather changes. I also like the way the single-entry build comes together. I will be using Logan Gilbert as my SP1 and Houston as my primary stack, but I plan to get different with my one-off bats and with my SP2 choice on DK. My favorite way to do this is with cheaper bats that have some power – players like David Fry and Jorge Soler will be the options I look to.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs. I plan to be underweight on the Astros and will be going overweight on some cheaper pitchers who allow me to spend up to stack the Dodgers and Cubs.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
CheeseIsGood: Logan Gilbert – Unless you’re playing the chalk bats, I don’t see a need to overthink it at pitcher tonight.
