MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, July 8
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
stevietpfl: Gunnar Henderson (FD) / Shohei Ohtani (DK)
Notorious: Shohei Ohtani
TJ Zwarych: Juan Soto
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments. With 6 extra games on FanDuel, it’s a completely different slate than DraftKings. For pitching, I want to use Chase Burns; he has one of the highest ceilings, even in a tough matchup. I like MacKenzie Gore, Connor Prielipp, and Shane McClanahan (FD) as my main pitchers. Hitting is where the slates are completely different. On FanDuel, Baltimore, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Washington are all viable stacks. Baltimore is my favorite stack on the FanDuel slate. Then you can add in the Dodgers, Mets, and Reds as top stacks. With the offenses we have, I want to focus on 4-man stacks on FanDuel and 5-man stacks on DraftKings.
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. My plan of attack tonight is to save some salary at pitcher, stack the Dodgers, and fill in the rest of the lineups with lower-pOWN% values. Fading Chase Burns is risky, but I see MacKenzie Gore as a comparable play at a much cheaper price point. I’m using him as my SP1 on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Christian Scott is cheap and boasts a 28% strikeout rate this season. He’s my favorite SP2 on DraftKings. After 2 quiet games in a row at home, this feels like a breakout spot for the Dodgers, squaring off against Gabriel Hughes and a very beatable Rockies bullpen.
TJ Zwarych: My preference is 150 lineups in large-field tournaments, and I plan to be underweight on the Dodgers, who are highly projected and have high pOWN%. There are a plethora of offenses in good spots, especially on FanDuel, so I’ll fully fade the Dodgers and spread out my stacks with options like the Mets, Padres, and Reds.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
