MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, May 29

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

squirrelpatrol: Jose Ramirez
stevietpfl: Jose Ramirez
TheLuuch: Davis Schneider
Alex Sonty: Jose Ramirez

Who is your favorite sneaky stack on the board and why?

squirrelpatrol: Nationals – Spencer Schwellenbach is pitching for the Braves, and while his numbers in the minor leagues look good, he has never pitched above Double-A. We’ve seen debuts go awry for a number of big league pitchers, and the Nationals can add fantasy points with their legs as well as their bats, as the team is tied with the Reds for the most SBs in the league.

stevietpfl: Nationals – Basically just copy what I said above about Spencer Schwellenbach. I think he’s a talented young pitcher, but I worry about the jump from Double-A to the Majors. The Nationals offer upside with speed and power at the top half of this lineup. I think they’re a great secondary stack and could see using them in a 4/4 stack as well.

TheLuuch: White Sox – Like I said, I’m just not ready to trust Alek Manoah. Maybe I have trust issues, who knows? Manoah probably has the widest range of outcomes of any player on this slate. His xERA and FIP are both much higher than his ERA, so he’s still a pass for me. The White Sox are not good, don’t get me wrong, but they at least make contact (15th in K% vs. RHP this season) and have some lefties that could give him trouble. If Manoah is projected to carry some ownership, I think it makes sense to play some Sox in GPPs.

Alex Sonty: White Sox – The White Sox active roster has an 82 wRC+ against RHP since the start of the 2023 season, which puts them somewhere between a Triple-A and KBO team. As bad as they are, Alek Manoah could be headed over the Pacific any day now. He’s shown a couple flashes of brilliance with a couple flashes of nausea. Overall, he’s had just a slate-worst 5.29 SIERA, with a near-slate-worst K-BB rate (7.5%) and barrel rate allowed (9.4%) since the start of the 2023 season. He’s been especially terrible against lefties (18.9% barrel rate allowed this season). The Sox don’t have much power, but the whole lineup is kinda fine to full-stack. But this isn’t about the Sox. This is about a Quad-A pitcher getting 20% pOWN% on DK in a hitters ballpark.
