MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Saturday, September 23
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
STLCardinals84: I don’t think you need to get too cute. If you simply keep a close eye on the weather, you are going to be ahead of the masses. We have two games already postponed (ATL/WSH & ARI/NYY), but we have two others that are Orange and Orange/Red in Kevin Roth’s forecast. That’s 44% of the slate. As of now, I am fading all the games with big weather concerns, and that will put me ahead of any potential dead lineups. For stacks, I’ll be overweight on the “bad offenses against bad pitching” – so give me some Detroit and Oakland exposure!
Krayton: This is quite the slate with all of the weather challenges we are facing. I agree with STLCards that I am going to be fading the games with the weather issues, as there is quite a bit of red and orange in the early report by Kevin Roth. The Cubs are my favorite stack, and I will be mixing them with Oakland, Detroit, and Tampa Bay. There is plenty of value within those stacks, and Detroit and Tampa Bay have nice 4.6 and 4.5 implied run totals, respectively. I am not necessarily focused on one or two pitchers, so I will build the stacks first to see where I land. I do like Brandon Woodruff, Jesus Luzardo, and Nick Pivetta the most and will be focusing on the three of them with my stacks.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be fading the games with weather concerns and loading up on the Cubs. They’re the top stack on the board against Chris Flexen, and it feels like a great day to just roll out one team and play single-entry. I’ll hit the lock button on Brandon Woodruff regardless of how many lineups I play and pair him with as many Cubs as I can afford.
TastefulTides: We need Kevin Roth everyday, but we REALLY need him today. We have already had a couple of PPDs, and there might be more coming. I have my eye out on that Red Sox game because I really want to roster Nick Pivetta. If that isn’t possible, then I will pivot to Joey Wentz as my cheap SP2. I am going to make a stand and fade Brandon Woodruff and will go with Jesus Luzardo as my SP1. Toronto and the Detroit are my favorite stacks, and I will be fading a chalkier Cubs stack that has unfavorable hitting conditions once again.
