What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I like small fields with limited entries. I’m going right back to the Dodgers to close the series. I can grab one expensive pitcher and pair him with a cheaper arm, which frees up salary to get some value bats alongside my full Dodgers stack.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field type of contests. Ideally, my pitching pool won’t stray from Shota Imanaga, Dylan Cease, Sean Manaea, and MacKenzie Gore. If I’m in need of salary relief, Jack Perkins would be my first look. Specific to Gore, I like the idea of being both over the field on him and his opponent (Mets) and hope for an extreme outcome. I like the Dodgers plenty, and I’m sure I’ll play some, but if the Athletics are going to be somewhat different, especially in the single-entry contests I focus on, I’m very interested in them.
ebeimfohr: This is an exceptionally pitching-challenged slate, so I’ll be focusing on smaller-field tournaments where I end up eating the pitching chalk. In turn, I’ll be looking to make pivots amongst the bats, as nearly every offense has merits to be stacked in tournaments.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
