MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, April 12
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
CheeseIsGood: Yordan Alvarez
boggslite: Yordan Alvarez
ebeimfohr: Yordan Alvarez
Alex Sonty: Ronald Acuna
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
CheeseIsGood: My biggest stand is a full fade of Kevin Gausman. He may just be fine, and this may be the matchup where he snaps back into form. But for me, I can’t play a guy as expensive chalk who is at a career-low velocity and yet to reach 70 pitches this season. I would say that there are enough good offenses that we should just fade the chalk…but there are enough good offenses that I’m not sure we really have any chalk. Unless it looks like that is changing, I’m just playing my favorite trio of stacks to begin with – Rangers, Reds, Blue Jays – and then spreading out with one-off power bats from there.
boggslite: With most of the expensive pitchers drawing tough matchups or having pitch-count concerns, I will likely opt for some savings, especially on two-pitcher sites. With favorable hitting conditions expected in many games, I will spread out my exposure to stacks, hoping for one or more big innings, as I expect plenty of home runs to be hit tonight.
ebeimfohr: I am not getting far off the beaten path with my top stack or my top pitcher. Even at these pOWN% numbers, Reid Detmers and the Reds project to be the best plays on the board for me. So with their projected ownership, I’m going to attack my one-offs and secondary stacks with leverage plays or low-owned, high-upside bats. Then I’ll be looking to get unique with builds by taking on risk with a cheap SP2 or targeting a super low-owned option.
Alex Sonty: I’ll be stacking against Kevin Gausman, Andrew Abbott, and Jake Irvin more than I play them (if I play those pitchers at all in my 5 lineups). There’s enough power in the Rockies and A’s lineups, in particular, to mini stack, while the White Sox are just cheap.
