Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Friday 7/25
Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate.
Happy Friday! We have a big ol’ 13-game slate with a whole bunch of everything. This is going to be one of those slates where it’s not reasonable to talk about every viable play, and even in 150 lineups, you can’t begin to scratch the surface of all of the possible combos. I’m going to narrow things down as much as I can to a primary pool on both the pitching and hitting sides, but there is a lot of room for differing opinions on how to rank all of this.
We have a bunch of Yellows in the MLB weather report, but unless anything worsens later, I’m playing it as if everything is good to go.

Friday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
We have quality options in all different pricing tiers, and you should be able to have as big of a pitching pool as you want. Both sites have the same top 6 pitchers, so we’ll use that as the cutoff for the top tier:
TOP TIER PITCHING
- Bryan Woo at Angels – 24.3% K, 4.6% BB, 2.91 ERA, 3.49 SIERA
- Nick Pivetta at Cardinals – 27.9% K, 6.6% BB, 2.81 ERA, 3.37 SIERA
- Shota Imanaga at White Sox – 18.2% K, 5.8% BB, 2.40 ERA, 4.75 SIERA
- Nathan Eovaldi vs. Braves – 27% K, 4% BB, 1.58 ERA, 2.88 SIERA
- Logan Webb vs. Mets – 25.8% K, 5.4% BB, 3.08 ERA, 3.06 SIERA
- MacKenzie Gore at Twins – 29.7% K, 8.1% BB, 3.59 ERA, 3.27 SIERA
Bryan Woo is a great real-life pitcher and a steady DFS pitcher with moderate upside. This matchup has some risk and reward with the high-power, but high-strikeout, Angels. A look at Woo’s splits this season tells me the reward side is more likely here:
Woo vs. lefties – 20.2% K, 6.2% BB, 32% BB, .181 ISO
Woo vs. righties – 28.6% K, 3% BB, 49% GB, .099 ISO
5 of the 6 Angels power bats are right-handed, where Woo is basically a shutdown ace and has the ability to take advantage of his strikeout ability. This makes him my SP1 for raw points, but as the most expensive pitcher on both sites, let’s wait to see how much of a priority he is.
Logan Webb has been BABIP’d around a bit recently, so the results don’t look quite as great as they did to start the season.
