Happy Monday! We open the week with a 9-game slate that looks quite tangled on both sides of the ledger. We have plenty of pretty good pitchers, but really nothing that looks like a must-play. On the offensive side, I spot at least 8 stacks in the top tier that look to have very little separation between them. As we dig through things, I’ll give you my favorites and rank things the best I can, but this is definitely going to be one of those spread-it-out slates where you could come to a completely different ranking than me, and I will not yell at you.

I’m going to sort the tiers using DK pricing, putting everyone above $8,000 in the top tier. Tanner Houck misses my cut, leaving me with these six as the top tier:

TOP TIER PITCHING

Michael King vs. Twins – 28.7% K, 8.4% BB, 3.19 ERA, 3.48 SIERA
Taj Bradley at A’s – 28.5% K, 8.4% BB, 3.49 ERA, 3.52 SIERA
Yusei Kikuchi vs. Red Sox – 27.4% K, 6.4% BB, 4.49 ERA, 3.41 SIERA
Kevin Gausman vs. Reds – 21.4% K, 7% BB, 4.20 ERA, 4.19 SIERA
Seth Lugo vs. Angels – 20.8% K, 6% BB, 3.04 ERA, 4.07 SIERA
Bryan Woo at Dodgers – 19.6% K, 2.5% BB, 2.06 ERA, 3.88 SIERA

With these top six pitchers, we can basically split them down the middle if sorting by strikeout rate. Michael King, Taj Bradley, and Yusei Kikuchi have shown more consistent strikeout upside, while Kevin Gausman, Seth Lugo, and Bryan Woo are hovering around average strikeout ability. Among those three, Gausman and Lugo get their DFS upside from innings, while Woo has elite control and efficiency.

Before looking at matchups, I would say that the best DFS pitcher of this group is…
