Million Dollar Musings: Monday, June 26

CheeseIsGood, a two-time winner of a $1,000,000 first-place prize in DFS, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Monday! We’ve got just six games on the slate tonight, but those six games bring us a lot of strong pitching options, with salaries that make for some interesting lineup decisions. We also have a couple games that could be affected by weather, with Kevin Roth starting the Brewers-Mets game at Orange/Yellow along with some rain in Baltimore as well. On such a small slate, every game is important, so we’ll need to keep an eye on that throughout the day. I’ll be joining Roth on Crunch Time tonight to give you my final thoughts.
With that, let’s Stride on in and see what we can find in the way of MLB DFS picks for this Monday night.
Monday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

There is no mystery at all who the top two pitchers are, but there is plenty of mystery about what to do with them at their salaries:
Spencer Strider vs. Twins – 39% K, 8.6% BB, 3.93 ERA, 2.71 SIERA
Luis Castillo vs. Nationals – 28.6% K, 7.6% BB, 2.89 ERA, 3.58 SIERA
Spencer Strider had a couple bad outings, but the strikeouts have never slowed down, and they are not going to. Tonight, he faces the highest-strikeout team in the league. There is no question at all that he is the top raw points pitcher on the slate with the highest ceiling by a huge margin. But he’s also all the way up to $12,600 on DK. Even with his outstanding season and league-high 39% K rate, at $12,600, there is only one start all year when I would have been thrilled to spend that much salary on him. We’ll see what we have with cheaper options, but at first glance, I see a lot of guys who can give us 20+ DK points, while we can’t ‘expect’ more than 30 from Strider. He does have the slate-breaking ceiling potential that can’t be ignored, but officially, I am not calling him a must-play. He’s more affordable on FD at $11,300, and the price gap between him and the next group is a little tighter. I’m absolutely prioritizing him on FD.
