Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks for Thursday, August 29th
CheeseIsGood, a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Thursday! We’ve got a split slate kind of day with a lunchtime 6-gamer starting at 1:10 p.m. ET, followed by a 4-game evening slate starting a bit earlier than usual at 6:40 p.m. ET.
Thankfully, this will be the last day we have to talk about MIA/COL Coors Field nonsense, so let’s jump right in and get that out of the way!

Thursday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
We have a decent pitching slate for this early 6-gamer with a very clear dividing line between the top three aces and everybody else:
TOP TIER TRIO
Nathan Eovaldi at White Sox – 23.7% K, 5.5% BB, 3.79 ERA, 3.56 SIERA
Michael King at Cardinals – 28.6% K, 8.7% BB, 3.14 ERA, 3.55 SIERA
Sonny Gray vs. Padres – 30.4% K, 6.3% BB, 4.07 ERA, 3.06 SIERA
These three aces are all priced up between $9,700 – $10,300 on DK, which will make it tough to get two of them together in most lineups. On FD, they are all between $9,200 – $10,000. With the way the FD salaries work, it’s far easier to get one of them in most lineups.
The huge matchup edge goes to Nathan Eovaldi, and while he doesn’t have the same strikeout ability as these other two, his consistent innings upside makes up for it. He has seen a very tough run of opponents recently, but while the numbers are down a bit, we’ve still seen back-to-back quality starts with over 100 pitches. He rarely spikes a big strikeout game, although the last time he did, what do you know, it was against the White Sox. My lean here is to say that he is definitely the cash game SP1, and unless projected ownership gets completely out of hand, I’ll call him the SP1 in all formats.
In a best-case scenario game…
