Happy Tuesday! We’ve got a 10-game slate on tap, with a pretty similar setup to last night. We have a couple more pitching options, but it still looks pretty thin there, while the offensive side is headlined by the Padres and Rockies in Coors Field, but there is no shortage of good-looking pivots off of that game.

There are some slight weather concerns with the ATL/CHC and SF/STL games, but nothing that looks threatening enough to change my early analysis. Just be sure to check on that before lock if you’re playing something in those games.

Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

We have another shaky pitching slate, and I can only find 7 pitchers that are even sort of worth mentioning for a primary pool. If you want throw some darts on cheaper pitchers who have very low upside and a lot of downside, I suppose that is always viable, but for me, this is it:

• Logan Gilbert at Angels – 27.3% K, 6.4% BB, 3.72 ERA, 3.42 SIERA
• Hunter Brown vs. Royals – 25.9% K, 11.9% BB, 3.52 ERA, 4.03 SIERA
• Max Fried at Twins – 24.6% K, 8.1% BB, 2.73 ERA, 3.79 SIERA
• Kevin Gausman vs. Braves – 24.2% K, 6.5% BB, 4.60 ERA, 3.75 SIERA
• Andre Pallante vs. Giants – 16.9% K, 7.5% BB, 3.45 ERA, 4.28 SIERA
• Sean Manaea vs. Orioles – 21.6% K, 7% BB, 4.79 ERA, 3.98 SIERA
• Patrick Sandoval at Rangers – 22.5% K, 10.7% BB, 4.58 ERA, 4.43 SIERA

Logan Gilbert looks to me like the SP1. As we’ve discussed quite often here, he has not been as great or consistent as last season, but still, his skill set is way better than anyone else on this slate. Plus, he’s picked up double-digit strikeouts in back-to-back starts, and oddly for a Seattle pitcher, he’s been much better on the road this season. On top of all that, he also has one of the best strikeout matchups in the league against an Angels team with 6 batters above a 25% K rate against RHP this season in their projected lineup. While he’s the SP1, he’s still not ‘safe’ by any means. He has allowed a lot of power, particularly to righties, and the Angels still have enough home-run upside to cause him some issues. I expect him to end up as the most-popular pitcher, but we do have a few more options that should take some of that ownership away, with guys like Hunter Brown and Max Fried. Even assuming Gilbert ends up as heavy chalk, he’s still my SP1.
