CheeseIsGood, a two-time winner of a $1,000,000 first-place prize in DFS, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Wednesday! We’ve got a split slate kind of day but with most of the action taking place at the usual 7:05 PM ET start time with an 8-game main slate. I’ll start with a quick peek at the early 4-gamer, which both sites are running at 12:20 PM ET.
The timing of these slates is beautiful for DFS purposes, as it leaves the Coors Field game off of both of these slates. The pitching is sketchy for the early slate, but we begin there and see what we can sort out in the way of MLB DFS picks.
Wednesday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

There are essentially four decent pitchers on this slate and then a couple cheap, nonsense dart-throws. In general, I don’t like when mediocre pitchers are chalky, but to avoid it, you have to have something to pivot to. Those pivots really don’t exist.
Lucas Giolito at Braves – 25.7% K, 8.1% BB, 3.85 ERA, 4.06 SIERA
Eduardo Rodriguez at Pirates – 25.9% K, 6% BB, 2.95 ERA, 3.72 SIERA
Tanner Bibee at Astros – 24.4% K, 8.3% BB, 3.11 ERA, 4.19 SIERA
MacKenzie Gore vs. Brewers – 27.1% K, 10.3% BB, 4.42 ERA, 4.10 SIERA

These four pitchers are similarly skilled enough that I’m mostly playing the salary and matchup game here. If I had to pick one best skill set out of this group, it would be Eduardo Rodriguez, and out of the three pitchers over $8k on DK, he has the best matchup as well. I have no issue with some Lucas Giolito if multi-entering, but I see no reason to play a similar, if not slightly worse, pitcher against the Braves when we can just play the cheaper guy against the Pirates. Voila.
