Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Wednesday 5/13

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the May 13, 2026 MLB DFS slate.
Happy Wednesday! We’ve got another 10-game slate tonight that has a whole bunch of everything. We can find some top-tier offense with upside in all price ranges, while on the pitching side, we have three of the highest-upside arms in the league but no shortage of salary-saving options below that. Let’s jump right in and see how this all shakes out.
Wednesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

We have 3 of the best DFS pitchers in the league up top tonight, and we also had a solid mid-tier and a few cheaper pitchers that all look good. I’ll separate into these three pricing tiers:
THE THREE ACES
- Shohei Ohtani vs. Giants – 31.2% K, 5.4% BB, 2.04 ERA, 2.79 SIERA
- Jacob Misiorowski vs. Padres – 34.9% K, 10.7% BB, 3.60 ERA, 3.07 SIERA
- Dylan Cease vs. Rays – 30.8% K, 9.7% BB, 4.13 ERA, 3.41 SIERA
These are 3 of the highest-upside pitchers in the league, and any of them can have a massive ceiling game at any time. They are also all bunched up in a fairly close salary range on both sites, well ahead of the rest of the pitchers on the slate, as they should be. The first thing I’ll say is that if the ownership gap gets far out of hand with any of them, I would gladly just play the other ones, but for now, I’m going to assume that all three get ownership.
As much as I love that Shohei Ohtani has the great control to go along with the strikeouts, I have to side with Jacob Misiorowski as the SP1 here. Even surrounded by two other elite strikeout pitchers, his ceiling is a step ahead with a silly 39.5% K rate and 17.1% swinging-strike rate through 8 starts this season. Matchups barely matter for him, but I’d say that while this is not a great strikeout matchup, the Padres are a team that doesn’t scare me at all. They have more righties, which is also not quite as good for Misiorowski’s strikeouts but better for his control. I don’t think we should need much more information than a 39.5% K rate.
Next, I’ll go with…
