Million Dollar Musings: Wednesday, May 24

CheeseIsGood, a two-time winner of a $1,000,000 first-place prize in DFS, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Split Slate Wednesday! We are back with yet another Wednesday of games spread throughout the day. I will focus on the 8-game main slate starting at the usual 7:05pm ET but will first start with a quick peek at the early 5-gamer starting at 12:35pm ET.
I’m barely into my first cup of coffee, but we’ll just jump in to see what we can find in the way of MLB DFS picks for this early slate and then see if I perk up a little more as we move to the evening games.
Wednesday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

This early slate is headlined by two aces, followed by a bunch of dart throwing.
The Two Aces
Zac Gallen at Phillies – 29.9% K, 5% BB, 2.95 ERA, 3.11 SIERA
Joe Ryan vs. Giants – 30.4% K, 3.7% BB, 2.25 ERA, 3.01 SIERA
Both Ryan and Gallen have elite, ace-level skill sets so far this season. A quick glance at the game log might throw someone off the scent with Gallen, but other than that one bad start last week, both of these aces have been consistent with loads of upside.
I suppose it is conceivable that something is suddenly wrong with Gallen, but I don’t see any red flags. And he was just so elite for eight consecutive starts that I’m giving him a pass on that bad start. But I will say that, since Ryan doesn’t have that one bad start and has been a little more consistent with the strikeouts, he’s going to be my SP1.
I love both of these aces, and they are the clear top two pitchers on the slate. If I can afford them both, I will pair them in every possible lineup on DK. But if just choosing one, I go Ryan first.
