Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Wednesday 9/10
Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate.
Happy Wednesday! We have a sizeable difference between the sites tonight, with DK running a 7-game slate at the usual 7:05 PM ET start time, while FD is starting at 6:35 PM ET to add an additional 4 games. Those 4 games on FD result in significant changes to both the pitching and hitting sides, as it adds Paul Skenes and Cristopher Sanchez to an already good pitching slate and teams like the Phillies, Royals, and Marlins to a slate that needs all of the hitting we can get.
If you’re playing the early 4-game slate that starts at 2:35 PM ET, we have Expert tags and analysis available in our MLB DFS optimizer, LineupHQ, to help get you started.

Wednesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
This is a strong pitching slate, with several aces up top and a handful of viable cheaper options. My initial thought here is to prioritize spending up, but let’s see what happens as we dig into it.
TOP TIER PITCHING
- Logan Gilbert vs. Cardinals – 33.9% K, 6.1% BB, 3.61 ERA, 2.71 SIERA
- Chris Sale vs. Cubs – 31.8% K, 6.5% BB, 2.38 ERA, 2.98 SIERA
- Blake Snell vs. Rockies – 23.9% K, 11.4% BB, 3.19 ERA, 4.27 SIERA
- Nick Pivetta vs. Reds – 26.5% K, 6.8% BB, 2.85 ERA, 3.65 SIERA
- Carlos Rodon vs. Tigers – 26% K, 10% BB, 3.12 ERA, 3.698 SIERA
- Paul Skenes at Orioles (FD) – 28.9% K, 5.8% BB, 1.98 ERA, 3.15 SIERA
- Cristopher Sanchez vs. Mets – 26% K, 5.9% BB, 2.60 ERA, 3.09 SIERA
I’m going to start by saying there is no way I’m going to try and play all of these aces tonight. To me, the easiest cut looks like Carlos Rodon. He’s good – and always playable – but his strikeouts are way down to just 21% in the second half, and I don’t love the matchup either.
My next cut is tougher, but it will be Cristopher Sanchez on FD. He’s awesome, but I can be okay with passing on his lower strikeout rate against the Mets on a 1-pitcher site.
Sadly, I don’t see another easy cut, so let’s see if we can at least identify some favorites.
