MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Monday, May 19th

Opto% Stack

Philadelphia Phillies at Kyle Freeland

The Phillies present an intriguing MLB DFS stack against Kyle Freeland in Coors Field, given their top optimal stack rate and a high implied run total of 6.13 runs. Despite this promising setup, stacking them in your DFS lineup isn’t an unequivocal decision.

The Phillies’ prominent hitters, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, are lefties who face Freeland, also a lefty, and Trea Turner, their best righty, lacks considerable power. This situation poses a dilemma: either invest heavily in these key players by compromising other lineup spots or opt for less impactful hitters with elevated prices.

The current salary demands could make things tricky, but they’ll also have the potential to capitalize against the Rockies’ bullpen later in the game.

Opto% Stack

Seattle Mariners at Davis Martin

The Mariners emerge as a compelling MLB DFS stack against Davis Martin, showcasing the 2nd-best optimal stack rate and an impressive implied run total of 4.67 runs. Leading the charge is Cal Raleigh, whose exceptional stats against righties — a 21% barrel rate, 71% hard hit rate, and a .330 ISO — make him a top choice, outperforming any Phillies bat on the slate.

Complementing Raleigh, Jorge Polanco and Rowdy Tellez provide solid support with their ability to powerfully launch the ball. Martin’s inability to effectively neutralize LHP is evident in his low 13.6% strikeout rate, while his 49% ground ball rate isn’t substantial enough to compensate.

Additionally, facing a subpar White Sox bullpen and playing in a ballpark that favors hitters further enhances the Mariners’ upside. Despite the absence of Coors Field’s notorious conditions, Seattle presents as an attractive DFS option.
