MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Thursday, June 19th
Opto% Stack
Dodgers vs. Ryan Bergert
The Dodgers are a solid MLB DFS stack today against Ryan Bergert, supported by elite projection metrics. They have the 2nd-best optimal stack rate and the 3rd-best stack rating in our projections, along with a slate-leading implied run total of 5.69 runs.
While Bergert has been effective in his first three career starts, posting a 21.3% strikeout rate and 10.7% walk rate over 19 innings, there is little reason for optimism in this matchup. His minor league numbers suggest he is not likely to be even an average pitcher at this point. The small sample so far has shown reverse splits, but with three strong lefties in the Padres bullpen, right-handed Dodgers bats are just as appealing. Shohei Ohtani remains the top priority if salary allows, but stacking Dodgers based on positional needs is a strong approach.
Given the uncertainty around Bergert’s true skill set and the potential for bullpen exposure, a full Dodgers stack is preferred. The combination of high projections, a favorable matchup, and lineup flexibility makes the Dodgers one of the best DFS stacks on the slate.

Opto% Stack
Astros at Jacob Lopez
The Astros are a standout MLB DFS stack today against Jacob Lopez, boasting the best optimal stack rate and 2nd-best stack rating in our projections, along with a robust implied run total of 5.24 runs. While Lopez is a more formidable opponent than JP Sears—especially in terms of strikeout ability—Houston still holds significant power upside.
As a fly-ball lefty, Lopez presents an opportunity for Houston’s right-handed power bats to capitalize in a hitter-friendly ballpark. Although this matchup carries more volatility due to Lopez’s higher strikeout potential, the Astros’ strong contact skills and the Athletics’ bullpen make them a compelling option.
Cam Smith, with his impressive small-sample .333 ISO against lefties, is a key piece to target, while Yainer Diaz, Isaac Paredes, and Christian Walker also offer strong individual and stack value. Even with the increased risk of Lopez’s strikeouts, the Astros’ combination of projection metrics, contact ability, and power potential makes them a strong option.
