MLB DFS Picks: Top Stacks for Tuesday, August 26th

Opto% Stack

Houston Astros vs. Colorado Rockies (Tanner Gordon)

The Astros present an outstanding stack opportunity against Gordon, as they boast the best Opto%, best stack rating, and 7th-best Value%, and they come in with an implied team total of 5.39 runs. Getting to face a notably weak Rockies bullpen also elevates their potential for an explosive offensive performance.

The potential activation of Yordan Alvarez offers a significant boost; his strong track record against RHP immediately makes him an elite play, even after a long layoff. The matchup against this Rockies pitching staff essentially mimics a minor league test, which positions him for success.

Beyond Alvarez, the lineup shows moderate promise against RHP. Christian Walker and Jose Altuve have the best power metrics this season, and they are joined by Jeremy Pena and Carlos Correa as solid pieces to add to the stack.

Should projected ownership spike, an underweight approach might be the way to go here. However, due to the favorable matchup, pushing them too far down the stacking list is going to be tough.

Opto% Stack

Detroit Tigers vs. Athletics (Osvaldo Bido)

The Tigers are an elite stacking option against Bido. They have the 3rd-best Opto% and 4th-best stack rating in projections, with an impressive implied team total of 5.71 runs. With this game being played in the hitter-friendly park in Sacramento, that amplifies their power potential significantly.

Bido’s command issues and tendency to allow hard contact are some of the main reasons that make the Tigers an appealing option. Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter are the clear top choices, as they have big-time stats against RHP this season. Greene boasts a .389 wOBA and .300 ISO, while Carpenter has a .363 wOBA and .263 ISO.

Complementing that duo, Colt Keith offers dependable midrange value, while players like Spencer Torkelson and Gleyber Torres are next-in-line options for the stack. Incorporating bats from the bottom of the order could be a cost-effective way to get access to the Tigers without sacrificing too much upside potential.
