Pitcher Grind Down
- Tim Lincecum – Lincecum is an easy pitcher to avoid when he is on the road, especially when he is pitching in a hitter-friendly ballpark such as Chase Field. In 5 road starts this season, he has a 6.84 ERA with a 1.75 WHIP. The D-Backs are a powerful offense and considering Lincecum’s history against Goldschmidt, he could be in for a rough outing. Rating = 3
Salaries: $6800 FD, $15332 DS, $13300 DD, $8500 DK, $76200 FF, $22400 SS, $13300 FTD
- Josh Collmenter – Collmenter has been a decent pitcher this season, but nothing really stands out tonight to make him worth targeting in your DFS lineups. His ERA and K-rate are both pretty run of the mill and there are plenty of other good SP’s that are taking the mound tonight. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6700 FD, $10486 DS, $10450 DD, $6100 DK, $64800 FF, $14500 SS, $10450 FTD
Batter Grind Down
San Francisco
Pablo Sandoval – Pablo has a .345 wOBA against RH pitching this season and has a nice matchup against Collmenter who has given up a .328 wOBA to LHB’s since the start of last season.
Additional Plays: Angel Pagan, Buster Posey
Arizona
Paul Goldschmidt – Sometimes you come across a BvP stat that is just too good to ignore. That’s the case tonight with Goldy. He has faced Lincecum 24 times in his career and has hit 7, yes 7, HR’s off of him. Number 8 could be coming tonight if Lincecum refuses to pitch around him.
Additional Plays: Miguel Montero, Gerardo Parra, Aaron Hill

Pitcher Grind Down
- Joe Saunders – At this point in his career, Saunders has more downside than he does upside. He has only struck out 15 batters in 5 starts this season. Tonight he draws a tough matchup against the Angels who are ranked 4th against LH pitching this season. He can safely be avoided in all leagues. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5000 FD, $8449 DS, $8750 DD, $5600 DK, $46900 FF, $13000 SS, $8750 FTD
- Garrett Richards – Richards is having a terrific season. He is sporting a 2.87 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP and a K/9 of 9.0. While the Rangers’ offense may seem like a daunting task for Richards, they are actually ranked 23rd against RH pitching this season with a team .304 wOBA. Saunders should get run support tonight and will likely be in line for the win. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7500 FD, $16737 DS, $16850 DD, $9200 DK, $111200 FF, $28000 SS, $16850 FTD

Texas
This is a tough matchup for the Rangers. With a game in Coors Field, I think there are better options than the Rangers’ bats tonight.
LA Angels
Mike Trout – If there was ever a perfect matchup for Trout, this would be it. The wOBA machine loves Trout tonight as Trout has a .463 wOBA against LH pitching and Saunders has given up a .410 wOBA to RHB’s. Treat Trout as the top OF on the board tonight.
Additional Plays: Albert Pujols, Howie Kendrick, Erick Aybar

Pitcher Grind Down
- Felix Doubront – Doubront will get the start tonight with Brandon Workman serving a 6-game suspension. Doubront draws a very tough matchup against the swinging A’s and should be avoided in all leagues. He’ll likely go back to the bullpen after tonight’s start. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5700 FD, $10898 DS, $9100 DD, $6200 DK, $65000 FF, $13000 SS, $NA FTD
- Brad Mills – Mills will get the start tonight for the A’s. He is a 29 year-old lefty that has not had a great track record in the majors (ERA over 7.00). While he has pitched well in the minors this season, I’ll be avoiding him tonight against the Red Sox. Rating = 3

Boston
Jonny Gomes – Gomes is a nice, cheap play in the OF tonight. He has a .392 wOBA against LH pitching this season and a nice matchup against Mills whose nerves may get the best of him tonight.
Additional Plays: Dustin Pedroia, Xander Bogaerts
Oakland
Josh Donaldson – Donaldson has fought his way out of a slump and is now riding a nice little 5 game hitting streak. Donaldson is always one of the top 3B plays when he is facing a LH pitcher as he has a .436 wOBA against southpaws this season.
Additional Plays: Yoenis Cespedes, Derek Norris

Pitcher Grind Down
- Dan Haren – Just as hitters are always in play in Coors, pitchers are always in play in Petco. Haren hasn’t had a dominant start in quite a while, but could very well be in for one tonight against the Padres who are ranked dead last against RH pitching with a team .275 wOBA. For the price, he is a terrific option at pitcher tonight. Rating = 8
Salaries: $7300 FD, $15799 DS, $13650 DD, $8100 DK, $75200 FF, $20500 SS, $13650 FTD
- Ian Kennedy – Kennedy is sporting an impressive K/9 of 9.6 this season. While the Dodgers are one of the better hitting teams against RH pitching, he does have the pitcher-friendly Petco Park at his back and he can afford to be more aggressive. I think he makes a terrific GPP play tonight. Rating = 6
Salaries: $6800 FD, $16490 DS, $15100 DD, $9000 DK, $92600 FF, $24300 SS, $16000 FTD
Batter Grind Down
LA Dodgers / San Diego
These pitchers aren’t exactly the best in baseball, but I have a hard time targeting batters in this game. The run total is set at only 6.5 runs and we could be in for a pitcher’s duel.
